What is swimming?

Swimming is an activity that involves every part of the body like your limbs. Swimming is performed usually in a pool but is also performed on the beach or ocean.

There are 5 different freestyle strokes in swimming. There is backstroke, breastroke, freestyle, the butterfly stroke and the side stroke.  

- Backstroke is performed by swimming but your whole body is upwards towards the ceiling or sky.

- Freestyle is when you use both hands to swim repeatedly and your feet is kicking at the back.

- Breaststroke is when you swim but both of your hands are close to each other and end up to your side. Your feet is the same way as your hands are.

- Butterfly stroke is like the breastroke because your hands is the same as the breastroke. However your feet must be kicking like a dolphin.

- Side stroke is performed by swimming by your side. In a sidestroke you have a leading arm and the rest of your limbs are straight below. The feet of your body mostly makes you move and your leading arm is to make you straight.

Swimming is also a sport and many people participate. People usually race to the end of the course and sometimes they have to go back once again. Many swimmers have won a cup for participating and winning in swimming. Michael Phelps is an example of a famous swimmer who has won a cup/medal in swimming.

Swimming is a very fun activity to practise. It can also make you feel better like from your asthma. It can help it cure and you also get plenty of exercise. If you become a swimmer and enter competitions you might win a cup/medal just like Michael Phelps.

Tennis Explanation!

What is Tennis?

Tennis is a sport where two players compete against each other with rackets, balls and a tennis field. Tennis has been created a few years ago.

A tennis game has 5 matches, in one 1 match there are 5 sets. A player must get points to win one set. The points in Tennis are 15, 30 and 45. Sometimes a player can get an A in their points which means advantage. A player can only get this point if both of them have 45 as their points. If a player already has a point as A, and he loses he will go back to 45 so both of them have the same points.

In tennis, there is an umpire that looks at the direction of the ball when hit. If a player hits and the ball goes beyond the back white line, then it is a miss. However if the ball doesn't go beyond the line, then it is a point for the player who hit the ball. Usually, there is a machine that looks carefully at the location of where the ball hit. There is also a ball boy/girl in Tennis. They get the ball for the tennis player and give it to them. Sometimes they might also give the player a towel.

The sport, Tennis is a very fun but an exhausting sport. Playing Tennis is one great way of exercising and sometimes you might be one of the people who get to meet a famous Tennis player and win a tennis world cup.

What are devices?

A device is a machine that a lot of people use when they working or playing. A lot of people have their own device including children.

This tool has many things in it that includes applications, pictures and information. Having a device has a big responsibility of keeping your private information safe. Being safe in the internet is called "Cybersmart". In your device you should never share all of your information like your full name, address and your contact number because someone could break into your house and do bad things to you and your family.

Devices make some people happy and occupied - especially children. However they can ruin your eyesight. People that use devices oftenly might need glasses soon so they can see better because eyes cannot be repaired once broken. They should not use their devices too often and only 1 times a week or only for working or learning.

Gadgets have been used in earth for a very long time. Intelligent people might create more high teched devices for us to use. Everyone should remember that devices should only be used sometimes.

Virtuous people do their very best to be the best!

A virtuous person is someone who has great strength to try the best they can be. They are very courageous, they take the correct decisions, they are fair in everything with other people and refrains from doing the unacceptable choices.

The Rainbow Fish, a very generous fish!

After we read the story about the Rainbow Fish we looked about the virtues the character shown and connected to it a person's faith.

Virtues the Rainbow Fish showed in the story:

The changes of the Rainbow fish and people are both the same because we are all growing closer to God through the virtues we do.

Growing in virtue means growing closer to God through our good actions.

Growth in virtue is evident throughout our many actions in life.

Values are important because it makes our relationship closer to God.

The connection of the growth in virtue relates to a person's faith because they are both ways of strengthening our relationship with God.

What is the Solar System?

The solar system is the universe which contains all the planets including the one we live in, Earth. It was founded by astronauts a long time ago.

The solar system has no oxygen for humans so astronauts have space helmets and tanks to give them oxygen. The solar system's length is almost infinite and no one has been able to go past the planet, Neptune since it is very cold and far from the sun.

Our solar system contains many things like the planets, moons and the stars. There are 8 main planets that orbit around the sun. The planet's names are Mercury, Venus, our planet Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. The solar system also have dwarf planets like Pluto because of its size.

The solar system also has different things besides the planets and the moons, they have comets and meteorites which could strike at the planets at any time. A lot of debris caused by comets can also be seen in the solar system through different ways. People who learn our solar system are called astronomers.

The solar system has been found billions of years ago. In the future, astronomers might find something interesting and share it to the world for everyone to know.

What is School?

What is School?

A school is a place where children usually learn more about the different things in life. Every child must go to school to develop their understanding when they grow up.

A school has teachers to teach the children. The children are usually kept in classes depending on their age and their grade/year. Schools also have principals who make the school rules to make it fair for everyone. The rules in schools are always there to be followed and if a child doesn't he is given consequences.

Some schools have a uniform for the teacher to wear and usually the children. Their uniform represents equality to everyone and how much pride they have in their school. There is sometimes a symbol that represents their saint and the children show their pride in that saint by wearing a uniform. A person also doesn't get bullied due to the fact that he is wearing something worse than the others. Therefore, school uniforms should always be worn.

In schools, there are different subjects to teach the children. Some common subjects are Mathematics, Spelling, Writing, Physical education and Science. Some schools have their children ride in public transport to get to a new location however, only the school (teachers and students) is allowed to be in the public transport and not with other strangers. In that new location, students also learn different subjects.

A school is a lot of fun for children because they learn so much from there and make new friends to play with. When children grow up they become more intelligent because they have been to school.
