Manaiakalani Film Festival

On Wednesday the 12th of November we went to Sylvia Park to watch Manaiakalani Film Festival. St.Patricks School and all of Room 5 went there by bus.

There was a huge cinema theatre and a big screen. There was also lots of seats. When we were about to watch the movie I was so excited. Our movie was ‘’ Magic Students ‘’.

Tamaki College, Glen Innes and Stonefields went there too. Our school, St.Patricks.School, had 3 films. They were Room 8’s ,Room 6’s and Room 5’s.

I was happy when I saw our own film ‘’Magic Students’’ and before it started 2 people in Room 5 introduced our film. Some films were funny.

I also liked other schools films, especially one called ‘’Hunger Games’’. When it ended we left the theatre, we were all talking about the films that we had watched.

Cultural Festival Recount

On Wednesday 18 Of September All children went to the hall for the cultural dance. We went there on 3:20.pm and I was only the boy in my group because I was really early and we had to wait for others.

Our group were called European Fusion. There were 6 groups that need to practice the cultural festival. It took a long time to make our dance perfect and doing all together.

When it was already the cultural festival day I was frightened. We sang first the national  anthem, then we sang the pacific greeting song. When we were still at Room 4, Mrs Towmey let us have our costumes. One group had a different costumes we had a jeans, a red plain shirt and a hat. When we went to the hall my mum was there.

 We sat on the floor and  We sang first the national  anthem, then we sang the pacific greeting song. After we watched the Maori Group danced.

Then the Chinese group danced it was amazing.The Tongan was the next group who need to dance their dance was fantastic. We had a break after the Tongan group we had chips and fizzy drinks. After the break it was our group to dance.

I did my best to do that dance perfect and somebody gave me a chocolate for doing a great dance. Then the American Pop was next group to dance my best friend Dhon was there he also did it properly. The Samoan group was the next group they were the last group to dance on the hall.

 When it was done I went to my mum and she said "You did a great job Tristan" and i said "Thank you" and Dhon's Father took a picture with Ace, Dhon and I.

The chair on the story was a want because they was still alive when their beautiful chairs and sofa’s burned. They had already a chair to sit on but was uncomfortable to them. .Because they don’t need it much. They are not going to die without it and there gonna be still alive .Because .some of their neighbors when they are on their apartment gave them some uncomfortable chairs. Because the girl, his mum and the grandma was not sick and they still have good health. They really want the comfortable chair because their neighborhood did not give them their favourite comfortable chair. They just want to have it they do need to have it. Because they wouldn’t die without the chair because they could just stand. They don’t have to really sit on a comfortable chair.

Estimate means take a guess.When we estimate we use information we already know then try to guess an answer as close as possible to the correct measurement.

After we estimate we need to check to see if our estimation is correct.

To learn this we flew our planes.
My estimation was 6m and 37 cm.
My plane actually flew 2m and 48 cm.
My estimation was wrong.

How to make a scarecrow.

Materials: 

*stakes

pantihose

straw

strips of carpet

purple scarf

tinfoil

yellow ball 

pop-up laundry bag

Method:

*First nail the stakes together to make frames.

*Then stuff the pantihose with straw to make arms and legs.

*After that join the top half to the bottom half by putting a little knit at the bottom half.

*Then put the pop-up laundry bag for the body.

*Add the strips of carpet on the body and the purple scarf.

*Lastly use the tinfoil and a yellow ball to make the nose.

The Best Day I Ever Had Was Going To Church

Last Sunday,my Family and I went to church.The church at St. Marks. We went there to pray and learn more about God or Jesus. Do you like going to  church? That day was the best Sunday.

The priest said to do a little prayer. It was quiet. I prayed for the poor and sick to be safe. The people said their prayer softly and happily.That was my very, very, very important prayer and was the best prayer. Do you like praying for the poor and sick?

After that the priest read the bible and we listened. All of us was very, very, very silent like no one could talk anymore. Are you silent when the priest is reading the bible? Many people are silent when the priest is talking.

When the priest was finished we did shaking hands with other people then all the people get out of the church. It was noisy  when the people got out of the church. I smelt KFC when I was in the car. I smelt KFC because somebody bought KFC. I also told my mum to buy me KFC and I said please because I really, really, really like KFC. Do you like KFC? Then my father bought me to KFC it was really yummy and that scent was the best scent I  ever smelt.

The best part of the day was when  I smelt the KFC and when I was listening to the priest because I learned more about God and Jesus. It was the best Sunday and I was very, very, very happy because I learned more about God and Jesus.

The Best Day When I Was Going To New Zealand

Last April My Family and I were having a vacation to Auckland, New Zealand. We had a lunch on the airplane while waiting. It was the best day and I was little bit sad because I left my cousins behind .

First we entered the airplane . We took our seat and ate lunch. After I ate lunch I watched a action movie for about 2 hours and 25 minutes. The movie was about a man who needs to save a princess for 45 hours or the princess will get killed. It was the worst time of day .Do you like going to an airplane?  7120 people travelled to New Zealand last April .

After that we took our enormous bags out of the plane. After we reached Auckland, we went to the house of mums friend and I ate some ice cream .The ice cream was very cold and very yummy .Then after 1 hour we had chicken for dinner .The chicken was very, very, very, yummy and tasty. Do you like eating chicken ?

When I was at home I was very, very, very happy and had the best day of my life .

Hydro-Power

Hydro-Power is from the mountain that goes to the river then it goes first in a intake then it goes to penstock then goes back to the river and then goes to a turbine then it turns into a generator.The generator is in a power house that the generator goes into the Long Distance Power Lines .

We made a water turbine.
First we prepared the things we need and it was 2 Small Paper Plates,Empty egg carton,Stapler or Tape,Pencil and Scissors.
Then we have make it the first step was punch a hole in the middle of each plate
Next was cut five individual cups from the egg carton.
After we sandwiched them between the two plates by stapling to the 

other side of each cup.
After that put the pencil through the center holes.Tape the plates to the pencil so that wheel makes the pencil spin.
Finally its time to test your water wheel already you can have a  friend to hold the ends of the pencil.

How to make our Teacher into a Toad.

Equipment:

Method/Instructions:

1.Firstly gather all your materials and equipment.

2.Next wash your hands and wear your gloves.

3.Then get the cauldron,put fire on below of it.(To make the fire stronger put 2-4 pieces coal,it must be on 350c degrees)

4.After that grate the 10 pieces of coal and put it in the cauldron for 20 minutes.

5.Next add the zombies flesh and the dragons scale.(Stir it slowly using the wooden spoon)

6.Afterwards do not forget to add the human heart and the emerald and stir it slowly until it becomes very bubbly.

7.Get your teaspoon,fill the potion bottle and let your wand have a little dip on the spell that is from the potion bottle.

8.Lastly you can change your teacher into a toad already using your wand by splashing it onto his head.

How to make a pirate hat.

Method/Instructions:

First gather all your materials.

Next get your paper fold it in half straightly.

After that fold the paper again in half.

Then put two corners of the paper to the center.

Finally put at least 3 drawings on your pirate hat and color your drawings and the other outside parts.

Lastly fit your pirate hat on your head  and try if it fits.

First mix the juice from the lemon with the petals from the fire flower.

Then grate the coal and the ogre’s tooth and add it to the lemon juice mixture.

After that add the spider’s legs and the apples.

Lastly sprinkle it to the mice to turn into footmen and the ribbon to turn into a ball gown.

1. You might have some rubbish in your pocket and you will throw it into the river and the river will get dirty that will make the creature sick.

2. You will maybe splash the plants with too much water then the plants will not grow strong, grow well and will die.

Positive

1.You could discover something about the river while water skiing and you could share it around the world.

2.It is a exercise and it makes you fit, but not fat.
