Programming and coding can be really fun!

WALHT: Write a report to our first session of Computer Science at Tech.

Do you think coding and programming a game for others can be exciting to learn? If you concur, read on!

Thursday 22nd of June, another exciting day at Technicraft. This time the Year 7's were in another class with another exciting subject. It was 'Computer Science'! A whole new door was opened with more doors that contained varieties of knowledge including scripting, programming and coding. Everyone was thrilled and filled with drastic excitement.

Initially learning binary was the first step. Learning this would help them learn to code which is a great start for novices. Every student followed a binary decoder which gave them data on writing letters with binary. They started with writing their initials with binary using coloured pencils, not numbers. This way they learned how to write their initials through binary using colours.

Secondary, their next task was to learn how to program a character to reach its destination using the app called 'StudioCode'. This app allowed Year 7s to click and drag blocks that program the character into the workspace.
Their goal is to be as efficient as possible as it is the real goal rather than reaching the destination. If the student manages to reach the destination in the given amount of blocks, they will receive a green dot as to mark they've completed their goal.

Tertiary, after completing all the given work and having 20 shiny green dots, studying the code was their next instruction. Studying the code for students was a little complicated as to now know that much information about programming and coding. Even though understanding it was intricate, taking time would help the students learn the codes. By learning the codes, in the future the students might learn how to construct and program a game. After doing all the given work, their first day concluded.

This new day of Technicraft was prominent for most children as they enjoyed studying to code and program characters. Their next session of Technicraft is surely going to be better than the rest of the sessions in Pakuranga Intermediate. Every student cannot wait any longer for their next session as Technicraft as they know it will be more thrilling and exciting.

What is something arduous for you?

WALHT: Construct a report to the 7th week of Technicraft.

On Thursday 15th of June, the Year 7 entered the room of woodwork or material tech. Initially, they collected their previous masterpieces and started creating new majestic ones. Each time a new one was constructed, the paint was more accurate, the trimming was perfect and the outlining was outstanding. However, this time fridge magnets wasn't their goal but instead a movable character. It would start by picking a differentiated character and printing it to start tracing or free drawing it to a stiff piece of timber.

Using tracing paper for transferring the image, would be easier but students have the option of doing it free hand which meant they have to do it without tracing paper which was a little arduous depending on their character's details. Once they we finalized, outlining using the pokerwork machine was their next step. This machine was secure to use but if the fiery heat of the dissolved metal adjoined with their skin, it would burn and incapacitate them. Using this slowly and steadily would give them an outstanding result.Image result for fireImage result for paint

Their next challenging instruction was to paint it. As some students rushed their work, some took it very steadily which gave them a marvellous outcome. One of their characters included characters in 'Spongebob', characters from 'Gravity Falls', and varieties of superheroes. Everyone had a different character making theirs unique. Painting it accurately would stand out against the other special character.

Trimming/Cutting was the next arduous step, it would require patience to complete it. Even though this step took a lot of time, finishing it would be a big achievement. A few characters were completed, some were outstanding and astonishing, some limbs accidentally broke when cutting and some trimmed through the character by accident.

Overall, week 7 of Tech was a remarkable day in woodwork. Everyone always enjoys the days in Technicraft as this is an opportunity for Year 7s. Students cannot wait any longer for the next session of Tech for more knowledge, learning and creations!

Facing and Overcoming an arduous challenge!

WALHT: Write and record relating to facing and overcoming a challenge.

"Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God."

I've been researching on a beatitude which is "Blessed are the pure of heart, for the shall see God" and analysing and I've interpreted that God is visible to pure hearted people as they are drastically holy and filled with goodness of the Holy Spirit. Being with God gives you the ability to always be joyful and graceful and you will never be filled with misery or depression.

After interpreting, I've constructed a visual representation of the beatitude.
