How to make your own fridge magnet!

What you will need:

1 thin piece of timber (depending on the character)

a printed character

pokerwork machine

tracing paper (optional - depending on the character)

1 flat magnet

paint tray with paint

heated and loaded glue gun

wood plate cutting machine

woodworking glasses

Instructions:

1. Find a thin piece of timber.

2. Decide which character you would like for your fridge magnet.

3. Print your character.

4. Use tracing paper to trace your picture into the piece of timber.

5. Use the pokerwork machine to outline your character - the slower the better.

6. Paint your characters using the correct colours.

7. Wait at least 10 minutes for the paint to dry.

8. Put on your woodworking glasses.

8. Use the wood plate cutting machine and trim your shape. - the slower the better to produce quality.

9. Use the loaded glue gun to paste the flat magnet into the back of your shape.

10. Enjoy your fridge magnet!

What is a car?

A car is a very common vehicle used by a lot of people to travel long distances. There are many types and colours of cars.

A car has many parts to make it move. However there are parts that are needed before it can be used. One of the things is needed are wheels to make it move. An engine is also needed to make most of the things work. A car battery is needed at the front of the car to make almost everything work. A steering wheel is needed to make the driver take control of it. If a car is missing of one the parts, then it will not work properly.

If you have a car, you should always give it fuel every month. There are three main different types of fuel you put into your car. One of them is gasoline which is a petroleum - derived liquid. The second one is diesel fuel which comes from distilled crude oil. The last one is compressed natural gas which is sometimes called CNG. It is produced from different wells and one of them is called an oil well.

Cars have been a great help to humans when travelling from places to another. As time goes on, more cars will be made and someday we will see a solar powered car, hydro powered car and a wind powered car.

Spring, a beautiful season of the year!

WALHT: Create a sophisticated recount about our session in Technicraft.

On Thursday it was a very gloomy and rainy day at Technicraft. Our woodwork teacher, Mr. Nair, permitted us to utilize the given chromebooks to select a favoured character for a fridge magnet. I selected 'Golden Freddy' from FNAF (Five Nights at Freddy's) due to the fact that his appearance grabs my attention and the colour contrast was very quintessential.

Initially, I started off with duplicating the image into a piece of dense, rigid timber. At first, it was very arduous because getting the exact angle of the shape was difficult. A special sketching wood paper was available for us to manipulate so duplicating would be a lot easier. I was relieved, until the next injunction!

As time passed a new utensil was given to us, it was for engraving the outline of the character we had in the wood. This enabled to us to paint the character more accurate without any errors. The long queue was waiting for people to complete their masterpiece. I was losing hope of getting my work finished as I heard the clock tick in my head. I gazed at the ceiling waiting for my turn.

Countless minutes have passed and I was in front of the line. My hopes started to rebuild again like in a construction site and forgot all about the time. As the person in front me was about to commence, Mr. Nair suddenly shrieked, 'It's time go now, time to pack up!'. I was filled with depression and misery. I packed up steadily while I was unenergized. It was very sorrowful that I didn't get to finish my masterpiece.

Overall, I believe that the second session of Technicraft was satisfactory because even though I wasn't able to complete the task given, I was still able to make a start of my beloved fridge magnet which is hopefully going to be completed and taken up home in the next couple weeks. Next session, I think if I work swifter and more focused, I will be one of the first people to complete our magnificent piece of polished marvellous art.

Another exciting term of Technicraft!

Once again the holidays have passed and it was time for Technicraft. This time we were in a thrilling contemporary wood work class. I was filled with full excitement! As I entered the woodwork classroom it was like a brand new world has been revealed and opened to me. I sat down leisurely as I gazed around me.

Mr. Nair, our woodwork educator introduced himself and asked us various questions involving technology. I was unable to answer the strenuous questions, however the next activity he gave us was ten times more exciting.

Our main goal throughout the term was to create flexible puppets and we practised this initially by enlarging a small picture a sailing boat, this would improve our accuracy of enlarging our chosen character. At first, it was a little arduous but when I persevered, I accomplished the activity and was able to enlarge the compact sketch.

As time passed, we were given a new exciting activity! We had to make a title page for our colourful folders. He gave us some specimens to give us a suggestion for what we were about to produce. I started off my work with a border and a title saying, 'Material Tech'. However when I started to draw my next item, sadly we were told that the first lesson of woodwork was finished.

Although, we had a short time in Technicraft, it was still extremely enjoyable because we got our intelligent minds to think more about technology and how important it is in our life. Next time it would be extraordinary fun if we could start creating our brilliant puppets.
